However, the speed of reaching 3 damage to all creatures with Suns is so much faster, Starstorm requiring 5 mana to deal 3, as opposed to 3 mana for 3. ![]() With Amonkhets release, we found basically its mini, younger brother, Sweltering Suns. With this in mind I consider the boardwipe, Starstorm. The best option as a replacement for the spell alone would be an Austere Command, but seeing as the cycling slots were limited enough as it was, I settle for just my targeted removals, abandoning such a hard, and massive reset stratagem. If Akroma's Vengeance was our reset, it felt like it would hurt me far more than it would hurt an opponent, seeing as it destroyed my own things as well, and the entire decks engine is dead in the water without an Astral Slide, and Lightning Rift in play. (Return to Dust might be better here, but the cycling, and lower cost keeping in line with what I'd have paid for a sanctifier appealed to me). If Sanctifier was being used for targeted removal, and its flip up ability wasn't triggering with Astral Slide, I felt the slots were better dropped in with Forsake the Worldly for its cyclability, as well as targeted removal. Treating them as fillers, I've made some replacements and swaps. Also Jareth, Leonine Titan, clearly a big blocking body as well as a late game beater. ![]() My initial reaction to them was that I probably just didn't understand enough about the game to fully grasp why they were in the deck, and what their best use was, as well as considering it was possibly just fillers for a very niche decklist. The original list for this that I copied from an article ran Akroma's Vengeance, Gempalm Incinerator's, Starstorm's, and Daru Sanctifier's.
